Clara M. Hacker

Clara Mabel Hacker, 97, of Huntington, IN, died Monday, June 2, 2014, at 3:15 p.m. at her home.

Mrs. Hacker was a homemaker. She supported missions for the Brethren Church for many years.

She was born Dec. 6, 1916, in Muncie to Edward and Laura Decker Bair. She married Wallace G. Hacker on Nov. 23, 1935, in Huntington. He preceded her in death on July 16, 1996.

Survivors include five sons, Garl "Ed" (Sue) Hacker, Gus (Lynn) Hacker and David (Carol) Hacker, all of Huntington; Paul (Karen) Hacker, of Syracuse; and Daniel (Joni) Hacker, of Roanoke; three daughters, Rebecca (James) Splawn, Mary Ellen Beemer and Martha (Steve) Grigsby, all of Huntington; a brother, Edwin (Mary) Bair, of Huntington; 18 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Calling is Thursday, June 5, 2014, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington. A service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, June 6, 2014, at 10 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service. Gus Hacker will officiate. Interment will be at the Lancaster Cemetery.
