John R. Beerbower

John Robert Beerbower, 73, of Tavares, FL, and a former resident of Huntington, IN, died Friday, June 13, 2014, at his home.

Mr. Beerbower was a 1959 graduate of Huntington High School. He graduated from Indiana University, where he was a member of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity, and earned an MBA from Roosevelt University. He was a veteran of the United States Army and had served as a captain in southeast Asia.

A former resident of Pendleton, Mr. Beerbower retired as plant superintendent of Guide Lamp, where he had worked for 25 years. He was a vendor at the Pendleton Farmers' Market, was a charter member of the Pendleton Jaycees and attended Fall Creek Community Church.

He was born March 12, 1941, in Huntington to Kenneth M. and Mary Jane Geseman Beerbower. He is survived by his wife, Linda Martin Beerbower.

Additional survivors include a son, Brad (Margaret) Beerbower, of Fishers; a daughter, Ann (Gregg) Beerbower Saxonis, of Orlando, FL; a sister, Carole (Larry) Hensel, of Tavares, FL; a brother, James (Pam) Beerbower, of Brownsburg; and five grandchildren, Megan Beerbower, Brian Beerbower, Olivia Saxonis, Devan Saxonis and Kai Saxonis.

Calling is Monday, June 16, 2014, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Lahm Chapel, 211 E. State St., Pendleton. A service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at 10:30 a.m.
