Harry Vaughn Upton, 87, of Fort Wayne, IN, and having family members in Huntington, IN, died Sunday, June 15, 2014, at 3:27 a.m. at his home.
Mr. Upton served in the United States Army and was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 257 and American Legion Post 499. He worked as a lineman for A.E.P./Indiana & Michigan Electric Co.
He was born Feb. 26, 1927, in McCool to James and Nelda Cooper Upton. He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores M. Eatinger Upton.
Survivors include two sons, Randall (Cindy) Upton, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, and Jeffrey (Melissa) Upton, of Huntington; three daughters, Diana Upton, of Fort Wayne, and Therese (Donald) Bjortomt and Colleen May, both of Avon; a brother, Dean Upton, of Michigan City; two sisters, Sally Lunsford, of New Carlisle, and Janet Wiley, of Urbana, IA; 11 grandchildren, Darcie, Wendy, Shawn, Neal, Arrick, Dawn, Jeffrey Jr., Andrew, Victoria, Nathan and Ashley; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Calling is Saturday, June 21, 2014, from Noon to 2 p.m., with a service following at 2 p.m., at C.M. Sloan & sons Funeral Home, 1327 N. Wells St., Fort Wayne.
