Joseph E. 'Joe' Clark

Joseph E. "Joe" Clark, 88, of Huntington, IN, died Monday, June 30, 2014, at 8:46 a.m. at The Heritage of Huntington.
Mr. Clark was a 1945 graduate of Andrews High School. He and his twin brother, the late Jim Clark, were one of four sets of twins born to their family. The Clark Twins basketball team twice won the National Family League basketball tournament and toured the United States and Europe with the Harlem Globetrotters.
Mr. Clark was a professional house painter. He owned his own business and worked as a painter for the Veterans Administration Hospital, in Marion, where he retired. He had also been employed as a painter at the Dana Foundry, in Andrews.
He was born Oct. 5, 1925, in Huntington to Harvey and Gertrude Aker Clark. He married Doris Scott on April 12, 1947, in Huntington. She preceded him in death on Jan. 14, 2009.
Survivors include a son, Wes (Doris) Clark, of Fort Wayne; two brothers, Dale Clark, of Andrews, and Ross Clark, of Greenville, OH; a sister, Mildred Tullis, of Orlando, FL; and three grandchildren, Andrew, Daniel and Rachel.
Calling is Thursday, July 3, 2014, from noon to 2 p.m., with a service following at 2 p.m., at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, Huntington. Rev. Rod Smith will officiate. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, in Andrews.
