Kenneth W. Kirkwood

Kenneth W. Kirkwood, 83, of Bluffton, IN, and having relatives in Van Buren, IN, died Thursday, July 10, 2014, at 10:38 p.m. at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
A lifelong Wells County resident, Mr. Kirkwood was a 1949 graduate of Petroleum High School. He worked for Panhandle Eastern Pipeline in maintenance of the compressor station for 23 years, retiring in 1988.
He was born Nov. 1, 1930, in Wells County to Ray and Janet Mae Elston Kirkwood. He married Evelyn Irene Onweller on Jan. 21, 1950, in Ossian, and she survives.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Sandra Sue (Randy) Davis, of Van Buren, and Pamela Jo (William) Powelson, of Convoy, OH; a son, Douglas Wayne (Rhonda) Kirkwood, of Woodburn; a sister Donna (Charles) Cochran, of Bluffton; five grandchildren; Jamie Werling, of Indianapolis; Kelli (Nate) Brumbaugh, of Bellevue, OH; Nathan (Kristin) Powelson, of Convoy, OH; and Megan Kirkwood and Colby Kirkwood, both of Woodburn; two step-grandchildren; Ryan and Chelsea Girardot, both of Woodburn; and two great-grandchildren.
Calling is Tuesday, July 15, 2014, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. and for one hour prior to the funeral service on Wednesday, at 10 a.m. at the Thoma/Rich, Lemler Funeral Home in Bluffton. Rev. Ralph Klinker will officiate. Burial will follow at Stahl Cemetery in Wells County.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
