Josephine Moore

Josephine Moore, 85, of Columbia City, IN, and having family members in Huntington, IN, died Friday, July 11, 2014, at her home.

Mrs. Moore, a former resident of North Manchester, retired from Controls Corp., in North Manchester, where she had been employed for 26 years. She was a winter resident of Florida for the past 20 years and was a member of First Baptist Church, in Zolfo Springs, FL.

She was born Aug. 17, 1928, in Blue River, KY, to Belva and Crow Nelson. She married Ray Moore on April 26, 1947, and he survives.

Additional survivors include two sons, Roger (Peggy) Moore, of Indianapolis, and Ed (Pat) Moore, of Urbana; a daughter, Crystal (Dave) Anderson, of Columbia City; a daughter-in-law, Karen Moore, of Pierceton; a brother, Crow (Sue) Nelson Jr., of Huntington; two sisters, Ethel (Jeff) Hill, of Muncie, and Dorsey (Elmer) Shepherd, of Prestonsburg, KY; eight grandchildren, Travis (Brooke) Moore, of Huntington; Greg (Deena) Moore, of Reedsville, PA; Andrew Moore and Don Beatty, both of Urbana; Dave Davidson and Karen Davidson, both of Indianapolis; and Brooke (Eric) Beck and Jessica Moore, both of Pierceton; and six great-grandchildren.

A service was held on Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at McKee Mortuary, in North Manchester, with Rev. J.P. Freeman officiating. Burial was at Fairview Cemetery, in Servia.
