Luella M. Schweyer

Luella Mae Schweyer, 78, of Fort Wayne, IN, and having family members in Huntington, IN, died Monday, July 14, 2014, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, in Fort Wayne.

Mrs. Schweyer graduated from Hoagland High School in 1953 and was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, in Stroh. She was most recently employed as secretary at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, in Stroh, and had previously worked at Lincoln Life and The Clothes Fix'r.

She was born Aug. 20, 1935, in Fort Wayne to Arthur and Della Lepper Zelt. She married Donald Schweyer on May 3, 1958, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, in Soest, and he survives.

Additional survivors include three daughters, Barbara Steele, of Huntington; Carolyn (Don Jr.) Cuney, of Columbia City; and Mary Schweyer, of Fort Wayne; two sons, Michael Schweyer and Mark (Melanie) Schweyer, both of Fort Wayne; a brother, Delmer Zelt, of Monroeville; 11 grandchildren, Luke Henkenius, Rachael Henkenius, Jennifer Steele, Jamie DeTar, Kyle Schweyer, Brandon Schweyer, Hannah Schweyer, Miriam Schweyer, Olivia Schweyer and ElleAna Schweyer; and two great-granddaughters.

Calling is Wednesday, July 16, 2014, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Rd., Fort Wayne. A service will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2014, at 11 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 10275E-550S, Hudson. Rev. Jim Elsner will officiate. Burial will be at Concordia Cemetery Gardens.
