Thelma S. Smith

Thelma S. Smith, 89, of Warren, IN, died Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at Heritage Pointe, in Warren.

Mrs. Smith graduated from Columbia City High School in 1942 and attended beauty college. She worked as a beautician in her home. She was a member of the Lincolnville United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and Wabash County Farm Bureau.

She was born Jan. 13, 1925, in Wabash County to Milo O. and Frieda P. Knoop Krom. She married Gordon R. Smith on June 2, 1946, at the Lincolnville United Methodist Church, and he survives.

Additional survivors include a daughter, Alice Dyer, of Huntington; a son, Gerald L. Smith, of Lakeland, FL; a sister, Louise Shull, of North Manchester; four grandchildren, Karen Allard, of Union City, MI; Kathy (Kevin) Robinson and Keith Watson, both of Hillsdale, MI; and Kerrie Lynn Watson, of Canton, OH; 12 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

Calling is Friday, July 25, 2014, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash. A service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, July 26, 2014, at 10 a.m., with Rev. Melissa Rice officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Lawns Cemetery, in Wabash.
