G. Robert "Bob" Foster, 93, of Huntington, IN, died Saturday Aug. 2, 2014, at 9:32 a.m. at Parkview Huntington Hospital.
Mr. Foster graduated from Huntington Catholic High School and studied at Lincoln Aeronautical Institute. He was employed by Curtis Wright Manufacturing, where he built fighter planes. He retired as vice president and general manager of Butler Paper Company.
He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Huntington, and a member and 4th Degree knight with Knights of Columbus Council 1014, in Huntington.
He was born Jan. 15, 1921, in Huntington to George and Anna Kline Foster. He married Elizabeth Wolter on Sept. 12, 1942, and she preceded him in death on Jan. 11, 1985. He married Eloise Schenkel on Jan. 17, 1987, and she preceded him in death on March 7, 2008.
Survivors include five sons, Steve (Myra) Foster, of New Orleans, LA; Tom (Londi) Foster, of Huntsville, AL; Jim (Marla) Foster, of Huntington; Dave (Becky) Foster, of Casper, WY; and Larry (Cheryl) Foster, of Salinas, CA; a daughter, Sally (Kevin Fitzgearld) Foster, of Vancouver, WA; a stepson, Greg (Claudia) Schenkel, of Indianapolis; a stepdaughter, Delene (Mark) Swing, of Huntington; a sister, Marjorie Hohe, of Huntington; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.
Calling is Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2014, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with recitation of the rosary at 8 p.m., at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, Huntington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 903 N. Jefferson St., Huntington. Rev. John Pfister will officiate. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Huntington.
