Robert W. Brickley, 83, of Markle, IN, died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2014, at 7:20 p.m. at Bluffton Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Brickley graduated from Rock Creek High School, Huntington County, in 1948 and served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a lifelong farmer, growing crops and livestock in Wells and Huntington counties.
He was a member of the Markle United Methodist Church, American Legion Post 111 in Bluffton and the Wheels of Yesteryear tractor club. He served on the REMC board for 38 years.
He was born Nov. 26, 1930, in Huntington County to Paul and Grace Eichorn Brickley. He married Rosalynn Stahl on Aug. 24, 1952, in Markle. She preceded him in death on Nov. 8, 2013.
Survivors include three sons, Scott Brickley, of Markle; Kevin L. (Donna) Brickley, of Bluffton; and Brian (Betty) Brickley, of Warren; a sister, Marsha (Bill) Thomas, of Markle; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Calling is Sunday, Aug. 17, 2014, from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee St., Markle. A service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, Aug.18, 2014, at 10 a.m., with Rev. Steve McPeek officiating. Interment will be at Sparks Cemetery, in Markle, at a later date.
