Douglas A. Scott

Douglas A. Scott, 53, of Huntington, IN, died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014, at 11:59 p.m. at Lutheran Hospital, in Fort Wayne.

Mr. Scott graduated in 1979 from Huntington North High School. He was a former Huntington North High School boys' bowling coach, leading the team to a state title in 2011, and had coached youth bowling leagues for many years.

He had worked at MagneTek, in Huntington; Wiley Metals, in Marion; and E.P. Graphics, in Berne.

He was born Jan. 22, 1961, in Huntington to Melvyn LeRoy and Katherine A. Lee Scott. His parents survive in Huntington. He married Mary Ellen Steele on June 13, 1980, in Huntington, and she survives.

Additional survivors include three daughters, Kristy (Michael) Anderson, of Fort Wayne, and Beth (Matthew) Rittenhouse and Vicki (Andrew) Muncie, both of Huntington; two sisters, Rebecca Scott, of Huntington, and Jill (Steve) Rice, of Warren; a brother, M. Leroy (Cathy) Scott, of Huntington; his mother-in-law, Barbara Jane Steele, of Huntington; and five grandchildren, Mary Rittenhouse, Audrey Rittenhouse, Matthew James Rittenhouse, Kaila Anderson and Mikey Anderson.

Calling is Friday, Aug. 22, 2014, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Bailey-Love Mortuary, Huntington. A service will be held at the mortuary on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014, at 10 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service. Rev. Raymond Scribner will officiate. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, in Huntington.
