Joan B. Flohr

Joan B. Flohr, 87, of Fort Wayne, IN, and having family members in Markle, IN, died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014, at Lutheran Life Villages, in Fort Wayne.

Mrs. Flohr had been active in the Junior Women's Club, was past matron and grand representative of Star of the East Chapter 514 of the Order of the Eastern Star and was a member of Daughters of the Nile. She was a member of the First Wayne Street United Methodist Church, where she attended the Wesleyan Builders Sunday school class and was a member of the Women's Society.

She was the daughter of John R. and Alice L. Worthman. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Ronald Flohr.

Additional survivors include three daughters, Rebecca (Mike) Heffernan, of Fort Wayne; Jane (Dale) Sheley, of Markle; and Jan (Dennis) Huguenard, of Guilford; a son-in-law, Brad Light, of Fort Wayne; 10 grandchildren, Tod (April) Leamon, Heather (Jeff) Wolff, Drew Light, Chad Heffernan, Justin (Jessie) Heffernan, Ashley (Brent) Willoughby, Alais (Shawn) Hanley, Jesse (Gwen) Sheley, Brennon Huguenard and Marcus Huguenard; two stepgranddaughters, Lois (Mark) Beucher and Laurel (Mike) Miller; 22 great-grandchildren; and five stepgreat-great grandchildren.

Calling is Friday, Aug. 29, 2014, from noon to 2 pm. at Lutheran Life Villages, 6701 S. Anthony Blvd., Fort Wayne. Additional calling on Friday, Aug. 29, 2014, is from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., with an Eastern Star service immediately following, at D.O. McComb and Sons Foster Park Funeral Home, 6301 Fairfield Ave., Fort Wayne. A service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014, at 2 p.m., with calling one hour prior to the service, at First Wayne Street United Methodist Church, 300 E. Wayne St., Fort Wayne. Rev. Greg Enstrom will officiate. Entombment will be at Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne.

Memorial gifts may be made to the First Wayne Street United Methodist Church, Visiting Nurse Hospice or the Alzheimer's Association.
