Ray O. Abner, 90, of Ossian, IN, and having family members in Zanesville, IN, died early Monday morning, Sept. 1, 2014, at Ossian Healthcare and Rehabilitation.
Mr. Abner had worked for Franklin Electric for 15 years. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the United States Army. He had attended the Ossian United Methodist Church.
He was born Feb. 14, 1924, in Wayne County, KY, to Luther and Nettie Morrow Abner. He married Reba E. Sullivan on Aug. 2, 1943, in Jamestown, KY. She preceded him in death on Aug. 20, 2004.
Survivors include two daughters, Gloria "Kay" Bower, of Petroleum, and Charlon "Rose" (Jerry) Moser, of Bluffton; a brother, Lilbern Abner, of Zanesville; a sister, Bonnie Henrich, of Armona, CA; six grandchildren, Tony Bower, Todd (Lisa) Bower, Tammy Sutton, Sheri Worthington, Shelly Stultz and Shawn (Lisa) Huffman; 20 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
A service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee St., Markle. Rev. Doug Barber will officiate. Interment will be at Horeb Cemetery, Uniondale.
