Beatrice Jester Wampler, 94, of North Manchester, IN, and a native of Huntington County, IN, died Sunday, Oct. 19, 2014, at Peabody Healthcare Center, North Manchester.
Mrs. Wampler was a self-employed beautician and had a shop in her home for 35 years. She was a member of the Congregational Christian Church, in North Manchester.
She was born Jan. 2, 1920, in Huntington County to Walter and Flora Rupley Reckard. She married Cecil Jester on Feb. 23, 1940, and he preceded her in death on April 4, 1974. She married Ernest Wampler Jr. on March 21, 1992, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 26, 2012.
Survivors include two sons, Robert (Barbara) Jester, of North Manchester, and Kevin (Janine) Jester, of Beachwood, NJ; three daughters, Gloria (Ken) Peters, of Grabill, NJ; Charlene (Keith) Biehl, of Clearmont, NJ; and Glenda (Rex) Boyer, of Huntington County; three stepsons, Steve Wampler, of Joplin, MO; David Wampler, of North Manchester; and Jim Wampler, of Fort Wayne; two stepdaughters, Carolyn Stine, of Silver Lake, and Gwen (William) Huddleston, of North Manchester; a brother, Dean Reckard, of Huntington; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Calling is Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014, from noon to 2 p.m., with a service following at 2 p.m., at McKee Mortuary, 1401 Ind.-114W, North Manchester. Rev. Sue Babovec and Rev. J.P. Freeman will officiate. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, in Servia.
