Grace G. Siebern

Grace G. Siebern, 97, of rural Churubusco, IN, and a native of Roanoke, IN, died early Sunday morning, Oct. 19, 2014, at Covington Commons, in Fort Wayne.

Mrs. Siebern retired from the offices of Kingsford Packing Company, in Fort Wayne, in 1980 and had previously worked at J.I. Case, in Churubusco. She was a member of the Churubusco United Methodist Church and its United Methodist Women's Grace Circle. She graduated from Lafayette Central High School in 1935.

She was born Aug. 18, 1917, in Roanoke to Samuel B. and Laura E. Mutton Platt. She married Lawrence F. Siebern on Nov. 12, 1939, in Huntington. He preceded her in death on Sept. 12, 1990.

Survivors include two daughters, Judy (Kenneth) Garrison, of Churubusco, and Carolyn (Stanley) Oke, of Batavia, IL; two sisters, Lorene (Bill) Gregory, of Butler, and Lucille Stapleton, of Fort Wayne; five grandchildren, Michael (Sarah) Garrison, Melissa (Lee) Norris, Steve (Nicole) Oke, Jeffrey (Keri) Oke and Heather (Aaron) Freeman; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Calling is Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco. A service will be held on Friday, Oct. 24, 2014, at 10:30 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service, at the Churubusco United Methodist Church. Rev. Corinne Boruff-Stucker will officiate. Interment will be at the Eel River Cemetery, south of Churubusco.
