Rosella M. Rekeweg

Rosella Mae Rekeweg, 83, of Decatur, IN, and having family members in Huntington, IN, died Friday, Oct. 24, 2014, at 1:48 p.m. at Adams Woodcrest, in Decatur.

Mrs. Rekeweg was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, in Decatur, and was involved in the Ladies Aid, Lutheran Women's Missionary League, Altar Guild, PTL and church choir, in addition to serving as a vacation Bible school assistant. She sang with the Decatur Circuit Choir, was involved with Christian Fellowship and Concordia Seminary Guild and played piano for Bible school and Ladies Aid. She was a homemaker and worked on the family farm.

She was born Oct. 31, 1930, in Decatur to Reinhard and Wilma Wefel Werling. She married Edgar William Rekeweg on Oct. 6, 1951, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Preble, and he survives.

Additional survivors include three daughters, Marsha (Thomas) Zimmerman, of Fort Wayne; Shirley (Robert) Brown, of Decatur; and Lisa (Anthony) Austin, of Huntington; a son, Stanley Rekeweg, of Ossian; a brother, LeRoy (Marilyn) Werling, of Decatur; a sister, Alice (Carol) Witte, of New Haven; nine grandchildren, Luke Zimmerman, Mark Zimmerman, John Zimmerman, Kristin (Steven) Carroll, Joshua Brown, Jason (Danielle) Rekeweg, Justin Rekeweg, Kara (Brett) Smith and Cameron Austin; and eight great-grandchildren.

Calling is Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2014, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur. A service will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014, at 11a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 6514E-7450N, Ossian. Rev. Randall Wurschmidt will officiate. Interment will be at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church Cemetery.
