Gary D. Sink, 69, of Huntington, IN, died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2014, at 3:40 p.m. at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.
Mr. Sink graduated from high school in Lincolnville. He was a 22-year veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War and retiring as a master sergeant in 1986. He was a member of American Legion Post 85, in Huntington.
He was born April 28, 1945, in Martinsville to Gilbert and Ruth Stierwalt Sink. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Dorothy Scott Sink.
Additional survivors include four sons, Anthony Sink, of Martinsville, and Douglas Scott, Michael Scott and Donald Scott, all of Huntington; three daughters, Pauline Atherton and Julia Sink, both of Martinsville, and Donna Hedrick Gressley, of Huntington; 16 grandchildren; Gabe Sink, Dominic Sink, Keali Lackey, Jake Owens, Madison Owens, Maria Burton, Donnie Burton, Amber Burton, Jeremiah Stoffel, Heather McFarren, Jaryd Stoffel, Kirsten Bauer, Steve Scott, Kellianne Hargrove, and Lisa Campbell; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Calling is Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., with a service following at 4 p.m., at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Drive, Huntington. Rev. Raymond Scribner will officiate and military rites will be conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2689, of Huntington.
