Hildegard L. Graft, 98, a former resident of Ossian, IN, died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2014, at Markle Health and Rehabilitation Center, in Markle.
Mrs. Graft was a homemaker and had worked at Wayne Knitting Mill prior to her marriage. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, where she was involved with the Ladies Aid and the Widows Club.
She was born Aug. 4, 1916, in Adams County to Christ and Lydia Schaper Wente. She married Arthur Graft, who preceded her in death in 1994.
Survivors include three sons, Allan K. (Sandra) Graft and Lloyd D. (Vickie) Graft, both of Ossian, and Larry L. (Nancy) Graft, of Mentone; two daughters, Marlene F. Lesh, of Uniondale, and Patricia A. (Rick) Krumma, of Ossian; a sister, Louise Brown, of Fort Wayne; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and five stepgrandchildren.
Calling is Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2014, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home, 120 W. Mill St., Ossian. A service will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014, at 10 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 6514E-750N, Ossian. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
