Urana I. James

Urana Irene James, 80, of Van Buren, IN, died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2009, at 4:21 a.m. at her home.

Mrs. James attended Roll High School, Blackford County. She worked in the kitchen of Skip & Jo's Bar, Van Buren, for 15 years and also babysat for a large number of children. She was a member of Central Christian Church in Van Buren.

She was born March 26, 1929, in Blackford County to Homer and Florence Miller Ross. She married William O. "Mort" James on June 5, 1948, in Van Buren. Her husband survives.

Additional survivors include a daughter, Debbie (Larry) Abney, of Van Buren; two brothers, Dale (Joy) Ross, of Marion, and Rosco (Janet) Ross, of Montpelier; a sister, Thelma (Bill) Thomas, of Hartford City; and four grandchildren, Billy (Sondra) Abney and Twana (Jason) Lamb, both of Delight, AR; Larry (Angie) Abney, of Marion; and Kathy Bollen, of Van Buren.

Calling is Friday, Dec. 11, 2009, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Ferguson and Glancy Funeral Home, 201 W. Main St., Van Buren. A service will be held Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009, at 10 a.m. at Central Christian Church, 210 S. First St., Van Buren. Rev. Will Shelor will officiate. Burial will be at the Van Buren Cemetery in Van Buren.
