Mary E. Thompson

Mary E. Thompson, 85, of Bluffton, IN, and a former resident of Markle, IN, died Monday, Feb. 16, 2015, at Christian Care Center, in Markle.

Mrs. Thompson was a homemaker. She had attended Sonlight Wesleyan Church, in Bluffton.

She was born April 20, 1929, in Sumner County, TN, to Issiac N. and Hattie G. Shrum. She married Bernard Ray Thompson on Oct. 9, 1948, in Franklin, KY, and he survives.

Additional survivors include four sons, Dwight E. Thompson, of Fort Wayne; Glenn R. Thompson, of Berne; Darrell R. Thompson, of Columbia City; and Michael E. Thompson, of Bluffton; two daughters, Linda C. Williams, of Port Charlotte, FL, and Lois Lahr, of Fort Wayne; a brother, Ben R. Shrum, of College Town, PA; 15 grandchildren; and 37 great-grandchildren.

Calling is Friday, Feb. 20, 2015, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee St., Markle. A service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, Feb. 21, 2015, at 10 a.m. Interment will be at the Horeb Cemetery, in Uniondale.
