Ruth V. Williams

Ruth V. Williams, 89, of North Webster, IN, and a former resident of Huntington, IN, died Friday, Feb. 27, 2015, at 7:45 p.m. at Miller’s Merry Manor, in Syracuse.

Mrs. Williams attended South Whitley High School and lived in the North Webster area for most of her life. She had been employed by Harborside Health Care, in Fort Wayne, and as a special education assistant at North Webster Elementary School. She was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star, in North Webster.

She was born April 6, 1925, in West Palm Beach, FL, to Charles and Pearl Stump Hull. She married Hugh Barber Jr. on Dec. 27, 1942, in Huntington, and he preceded her in death on March 24, 1966. She married Robert L. “Bob” Williams Jr. on May 28, 1970, in Brimfield, and he survives.

Survivors include two daughters, Jean Ann (Larry)Hunter, of Syracuse, and Peggy (Howard) Mossing, of Fort Wayne; a daughter-in-law, Cathy Barber, of Bloomington; two sisters, Helen Shepler and Janice Southern, both of Fort Wayne; three brothers, Darl (Sharon) Hull and Norval (Carol) Hull, both of Fort Wayne, and Clarence (Jackie) Hull, of Spencerville; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

Calling is Tuesday, March 3, 2015, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a service following at 1 p.m., at Owen Family Funeral Home, Ind.-3 and CR 500N, North Webster. Rev. Dennis Judy will officiate. Burial will be at the Mock Addition of the North Webster Cemetery.
