Richard E. Cundiff

Richard E. Cundiff, 82, of Huntington, IN, died Monday, March 9, 2015, at 12:54 p.m. at the Visiting Nurse Hospice Home, in Fort Wayne.

Mr. Cundiff was a 1952 graduate of Andrews High School. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was retired from Essex Wire, in Marion, where he had worked for 38 years. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 483, in Huntington.

He was born Nov. 11, 1932, to Ruis and Anna Loher Cundiff. He married Ellen Diane Schroeder on Aug. 11, 1952, and she preceded him in death on Jan. 22, 2005.

Survivors include four daughters, Vickie Cundiff, of Huntington; Nancy (Steve) Howison, of Irving, TX; Tammy Stauffer, of Fort Wayne; and Sally (Gary) Parson, of Wabash; a sister, Dorothy Ann Taylor, of Cherokee Village, AR; three grandsons, Maj. Benjamin R. (Leah) Ecklor, David S. Stauffer and Evan W. Parson; and three great-grandchildren.

Calling is Sunday, March 15, 2015, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., with a service following at 4 p.m., at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, Huntington. Rev. Gene Brunow will officiate. Burial will be at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, in Huntington County.
