Roland C. Fritts, 63, of Markle, IN, died Wednesday, March 4, 2015, in Kauai, HI.

Mr. Fritts graduated from Blackford High School in 1970 and earned a Master of Science in physics and mathematics from Ball State University. He taught at Southern Wells High School for five years and worked as an engineer at Raytheon and several other companies before becoming president of Ultra Electronics-U.S.S.I., from where he retired in 2013. He was a member of the First Church of Christ, in Bluffton.

He was born Oct. 7, 1951, in Bluffton to James and Esther M. Gerard Fritts. He married Kathy S. Moore on Nov. 25, 1972, and she survives.

Additional survivors include two sons, Ryan (Karla) Fritts, of Ossian, and Tyson (Christina) Fritts, of Indianapolis; a daughter, Amanda (Chris) Esterling, of Morton, IL; a brother, Paul (Margaret) Fritts, of Montpelier; a sister, Pam (Greg) Dubach, of Geneva; and six grandchildren, Dessie Fritts and Korbin Fritts, both of Ossian; Atlas Fritts, of Indianapolis; and Harper Esterling, Finley Esterling and Whittaker Esterling, all of Morton, IL.

Calling is Friday, March 13, 2015, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Thoma/Rich, Lemler Funeral Home, 308 W. Washington St., Bluffton. A service will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2015, at 1 p.m., with calling one hour prior to the service, at the First Church of Christ, 909 W. Spring St., Bluffton. Burial will be at Stahl Cemetery, in Wells County.
