Alma J. Woodward

Alma J. Woodward, 95, of Markle, IN, died Saturday, March 14, 2015, at 7:40 p.m. at the Markle Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Woodward was a 1937 graduate of East Rockcreek High School. She had worked as a receptionist for 15 years at Myers Funeral Home, in Markle. She was a member of the Markle Church of Christ and the Pan Handler Home Extension Club, in Wells County.

She was born Nov. 9, 1919, in Fountain County to Andrew and Margie Wolfe Thayer. She married Charles A. Woodward on June 3, 1939, in Markle. He preceded her in death on Dec. 14, 2007.

Survivors include two daughters, Clara (Duane) Cart, of Markle, and Becky (Dennis) Grover, of Warren; a sister, Georgan Anderson; a daughter-in-law, Diane Winkler, of Warren; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Calling is Wednesday, March 18, 2015, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee St., Markle. A service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, March 19, 2015, at 11 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service. Gerald O. Moreland and Greg Comp will officiate. Interment will be at the Markle Cemetery.
