Zona V. Harman

Zona V. Harman, 88, of Huntington, IN, died Thursday, March 26, 2015, at 2:40 p.m. at Heritage Pointe, in Warren.

Mrs. Harman graduated from high school in South Bend in 1943 and received a degree in history and education from Huntington College in 1962. She and her husband raced sailboats competitively on Lake Michigan for 34 years. After retiring, she and her husband spent winters in Key West, FL, for 20 years, where she was active in the church ladies groups and the Key West Garden Club.

She was born Dec. 9, 1926, in Clay County to Harry and Flossie Rogers Harmon. She married Willard J. Harman on Dec. 8, 1943, in South Bend. He preceded her in death on Oct. 13, 2014.

Survivors include a daughter, Joyce (Frank) Bebey, of Anchorage, AK; a son, Eric (Shirley) Harman, of Huntington; 10 grandchildren, Tia (Jim) Martin, of Tucson, AZ; Tamara (Bill) Stephenson and Frank Bebey, both of Anchorage, AK; Megan Callahan, of Aurora, IL; Jennifer (Brian) Kozel, of Evergreen, CO; Michelle (Trevor) Lee, of Denver, CO; David (Stacy) Callahan and Valerie (Lucas) Rumple, both of Fort Wayne; Eric J. Harman, of Warsaw; and Phillip Harman, of North Webster; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Calling is Monday, March 30, 2015, at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Drive, Huntington, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 31, 2015, at the funeral home at 11 a.m., with calling one hour prior. Rev. Bob Land will officiate. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery, Huntington County.
