Betty Jane Byall, 88, of Roanoke, IN, died Friday, April 24, 2015, at 3:47 p.m. at The Hearth at Sycamore Village in Fort Wayne.
Mrs. Byall worked at Triad-Utrad in Huntington for 20 years, retiring as supervisor in 1988. She also worked at the Roanoke Memorial Chapel for 10 years as a greeter. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Roanoke, where she sang in the choir, served as a Eucharistic minister and cooked for many Senior and funeral dinners. She was also president of the Rosary Society and was a member of the American Legion Post 160 Ladies Auxiliary in Roanoke.
She was born Aug. 5, 1926, in Whitley County to William B. and Blanche P. Gephart Hine. She married Harry L. Byall on Sept. 18, 1943, in Roanoke, and he preceded her in death on June 10, 1992.
Survivors include three sons, Phillip L. Byall , of Fort Wayne, and Mark A. (Connie) Byall and Steven L. (Angie) Byall, both of Huntington; 10 grandchildren, 29 great- grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Calling is Monday, April 27, 2015, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Drive, Huntington, with a rosary service at 5 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at 9 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 641 N. Main St., Roanoke, with Rev. Dale Bauman officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Roanoke at a later date.
