Thomas E. Barr

Thomas E. Barr, 60, of rural Bluffton, IN, and having family members in Warren, IN, died Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009, at 4:19 p.m. in the emergency room of the Bluffton Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Barr had worked as a machinist at Bluffton Motor Works since 1970, worked part-time at Fabri-Form for nine years, and helped neighbors with farming. He graduated from Southern Wells High School in Petroleum in 1967, attended the First Church of the Nazarene and was active in 4-H clubs and FFA.

He was born Sept. 13, 1949, in Wells County to Gaylord E. Sr. and Mabel Wright Barr. His mother survives in Bluffton. He married Sharon Lugar on June 1, 1968, in Fiat. His wife survives.

Additional survivors include three sons, Doug (Jamie) Barr, of Poneto; and Larry Barr and John (Renea) Barr, both of Warren; three daughters, Cindy (Shawn) Moser, of Craigville; Heidi (Ryan) Ramseyer, of Liberty Center; and Kelly (Jason) Stevens, of Bluffton; three sisters, Peg (Josh) Howell, of Dunkirk; Judy Rice, of Bluffton; and Wanda (Steve) Cunnington, of Hamlet; two brothers, Gaylon E. Barr, of Linn Grove, and Gay (Doris) Barr Jr., of Hartford City; 16 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A service was held Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009, at Godwin Memorial Chapel, Bluffton, with Rev. Bob Bothast officiating. Burial was at Red Men Cemetery, Warren,
