Thomas E. Ross Jr.

Thomas E. Ross Jr., 87, of Wabash, IN, and having family members in Huntington, IN, died Friday, April 24, 2015, at 12:25 a.m. at Peabody Healthcare Center, in North Manchester.

Mr. Ross served first in the United States Merchant Marines, then served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was an owner and operator of Ross-McKee Associates Construction, in Wabash. After retirement, he worked as a consultant for Shamrock Development, in South Bend, and most recently at Wabash True Value. He was a life member of Hanna Masonic Lodge 61, in Wabash, and a member of Christ United Methodist Church, in Wabash.

He was born May 6, 1927, in Cairo, IL, to Thomas E. Sr. and Louise Hardin Ross. He married Janet Creps on Feb. 11, 1955, and she survives.

Additional survivors include a son, Richard (Rebecca) Hawley, of Huntington; a half-brother, Lewis (Dorothy) Row, of St. Petersburg, FL; three grandchildren, Aaron Hawley, of Huntington; Amy (Donald) Pyatt, of Yoder; and Anna Hawley, of Allendale, MI; and two great-granddaughters.

A graveside service will take place at a later date at Matlock Cemetery, in Wabash County.
