Rebekah J. Chapel

Rebekah J. Chapel, 23, of Warren, IN, died Monday evening, May 11, 2015, at her residence.

Mrs. Chapel worked as a case manager at Paddock View Residential Treatment Center, in Marion, and assisted her husband in operating their poultry farm. She was a member of the Markle Church of Christ and a 4-H leader.

She graduated in 2010 from Huntington North High School, where she was a four-year member of the Varsity Singers. She earned a bachelor’s degree in 2014 from Huntington University, where she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority, and was working on her master’s degree in addictions counseling at Indiana Wesleyan University, in Marion. She showed horses competitively from 1999 to 2011 and was a member of the Ponies of America Club.

She was born Feb. 22, 1992, in Fort Wayne to Ted and Sarah Schenkel Trout. Her parents survive in Huntington. She married Neal A. Chapel on Aug. 16, 2014, in Markle, and he survives.

Additional survivors include a sister, Anna (Lucas) Jones, of Warren; a brother, Thomas Trout, of Huntington; her paternal grandparents, Roger and Joyce Trout, of Warren; her maternal grandparents, Tom and Jane Schenkel, of Huntington; and her parents-in-law, Don and Sarah Chapel, of Fairmount.

Calling is Friday, May 15, 2015, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Markle Church of Christ, 455 E. Morse St., Markle. A service will be held at the church on Saturday, May 16, 2015, at 10 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service. Greg Comp, pastor, will officiate. Interment will be at Lancaster Cemetery, in rural Huntington County.
