Larry M. Turner

Larry M. Turner, 74, of Roanoke, IN, died Thursday, June 4, 2015, at 1:28 a.m. at Lutheran Hospital, in Fort Wayne.

Mr. Turner worked at International Harvester, in Fort Wayne, for 24 years and at Navistar, in Springfield, OH, for six years, retiring in 1992. He was the owner of Turner Body Shop, in Roanoke, for 25 years. He was a member of Christ’s United Methodist Church, Ageless Iron Tractor and Machine Club and the Tri-State Gas Engine and Tractor Association of Portland. He volunteered at Roanoke Childcare.

He was born Aug. 28, 1940, in Grant County to Charles E. Jr. and Arletta L. “Kate” Widner Turner. He married Daleen Rodocker on Dec. 19, 1959, in Wabash County, and she survives.

Additional survivors include Kileen (Keith) Williams and Kimela (David) Parker, both of Roanoke; two brothers, Carl W. (Shirley) Turner, of Andrews, and Steve (Diane) Turner, of Wabash; six sisters, Beverly (Jim) Miller, of Hereford, AZ; Diana Sharp, of Lexington, OK; Sheron (Bob) Steward, of Fort Wayne; Linda (Larry) Terrel, of Pekin; Rose Dixon, of Elwood; and Marsha (Dave) Moore, of Huntington; and two grandchildren, Kayla (Kris) Pulver, of Fort Wayne, and Kyle Williams, of Roanoke.

Calling is Sunday, June 7, 2015, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Roanoke Memorial Chapel of Deal-Rice Funeral Homes. A service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, June 8, 2015, at 11 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service. Rev. Jim Tormey will officiate. Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery, in Roanoke.
