Walter W. Holloway

Walter Wayne Holloway, 86, of rural Roanoke, died Wednesday, June 3, 2015, at his home.

Mr. Holloway was a veteran of the United States Army. He had worked at Earth Construction and Sorg Construction, and later worked as a custodian at Elmhurst High School, in Fort Wayne, for 19 years. He retired in 1993. He was a member of Westview Alliance Church, in Fort Wayne, where he had been active as an elder, trustee and usher. He often served meals at the Fort Wayne Rescue Mission and was a Boy Scout leader for 10 years.

He was born Oct. 24, 1928, in Lequire, OK, to Walter Steven and Myrtle Ivy Kitchens Holloway. He married Naomi Jean Hawks on Sept. 23, 1951, and she survives.
Additional survivors include a son, Rick (Patricia) Holloway, of Fort Wayne; two grandsons, Christopher (Amelia) Holloway and Fletcher (Mary) Holloway, both of Fort Wayne; a sister, Clara Hanthorn, of Fort Wayne; and three great-grandchildren.

Calling is Monday, June 8, 2015, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Westview Alliance Church, 9804 Illinois Rd., Fort Wayne. A service will be held at the church on Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at 11 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service. Rev. Jason Schlatter and Rev. Wyatt Mullinax will officiate. Entombment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, in Fort Wayne.

Memorial gifts may be made to Westview Alliance Church or to Priscilla Women.
