Jerry A. Mossburg

Jerry A. Mossburg, 81, of Markle, IN, died Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at 5 a.m. at his residence.

Mr. Mossburg was a 1952 graduate of Markle High School. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked as a building contractor for Mossburg Construction, a family business which he eventually co-owned with his brother, Jim. He was a life member of Markle United Methodist Church.

He was born on April 14, 1934, in Huntington County to Elmer and Alfreda Dennis Mossburg. He married Jean Kinsey on Dec. 18, 1954, at the Markle United Methodist Church. His wife survives.

Additional survivors include a daughter, Janelle (Chuck) Vernon, of Marion; a son, Jeff (Kim) Mossburg, of Greentown; a sister, Linda Carl, of Cicero; two brothers, Kirby (Shirley) Mossburg and Jim (Sandy) Mossburg, both of Markle; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Calling is Friday, June 12, 2015, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Markle Chapel, 415 N. Lee St., Markle. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2015, at 10 a.m., with one hour of visitation prior to the service, at the Markle United Methodist Church, 145 W. Morse St., Markle. Rev. Steve McPeek will officiate. Interment will be at the Markle Cemetery.
