Doris J. Hille

Doris J. Hille, 89, of Fort Wayne, IN, and a former resident of Huntington, IN, died Friday, July 31, 2015, at 8:40 a.m. at her home.

Mrs. Hille graduated from Huntington High School and from the Methodist School of Nursing, in Indianapolis. She was a registered nurse and retired from Lutheran Hospital in 1986. She had been a member of Christ United Methodist Church and later the Waynedale United Methodist Church. She participated in the women’s circles of the churches, the Red Hat Society and many other activities and committees.

She was born March 15, 1926, to Prentice L. and Velma Lackey Wearly. She married Glenn B. Hille on May 20, 1951, in Huntington, and he preceded her in death in August of 1999.

Survivors include four daughters, Marcia Hille, Nadine (Arthur) Putt and Anita (David) Steinbacher, all of Fort Wayne, and Colleen (Michael) Niederholtmeyer, of Kaukauna, WI; 12 grandchildren, Nickolaus (Breana) Conrady, of Aurora, CO; Drew Conrady, Scott (Mercedes) Putt, Janell Poling, Allison Richmond, John Steinbacher and Megan Steinbacher, all of Fort Wayne; Amy (Drew) Niederholtmeyer-Hunt, of Vancouver, WA; and Adam Niederholtmeyer, Amanda Niederholtmeyer, Alexander Niederholtmeyer and Annalise Niderholtmeyer, all of Kaukauna, WI; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Calling is Monday, Aug. 3, 2015, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Rd., Fort Wayne. A service will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2015, at 11 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service, at Waynedale United Methodist Church, 2501 Church St., Fort Wayne. Burial will be at Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne.
