Mary Ann Schoenemann

Mary Ann Schoenemann, 81, of Bluffton, IN, and a former resident of Roanoke, IN, died Saturday, Aug. 8, 2015, at River Terrace Retirement Community, in Bluffton.

Mrs. Schoenemann, a 1952 graduate of Elmhurst High School, farmed with her husband. She also worked as a rural mail carrier at the Roanoke Post Office for more than 20 years, retiring in 2008. She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, in Fort Wayne, and a long-time member of the Minerva and Amicitia Extension Homemaker Clubs.

She was born May 18, 1934, to Clarence and Lucile Strater. She married Paul F. Schoenemann on Nov. 12, 1955, in Fort Wayne, and he survives.

Additional survivors include a daughter, LuAnn (Gary) Ambriole, of Roanoke; two sons, Michael (Janet) Schoenemann and Bruce (Mary) Schoenemann, both of Roanoke; two sisters, Louise Bredemeyer, of Fort Wayne, and Marcia Partridge, of Indianapolis; five grandchildren, Joe (Kelly) Schoenemann, of Yoder; Amy Ambriole, of Fort Wayne; Emily (Toby) Kramer, of Wapakoneta, OH; Andy (Catie) Ambriole, of Roanoke; and Ashley (Brent) Reed, of Nappanee; and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2015, at 1 p.m. at River Terrace Retirement Community, 400 Caylor Blvd., Bluffton. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2015, at 10 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.

Memorial gifts may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church or Family Life Care Hospice.
