Kenneth Stallsmith

Kenneth Stallsmith, 71, of Van Buren Township, IN, died Sunday, Aug. 30, 2015, at 5:06 p.m. at the VA Northern Indiana Health Care System, in Marion.

Mr. Stallsmith graduated from Van Buren High School in 1961 and later from Ball State University. He served as a translator in the United States Air Force from 1963 to 1966. He had worked at Stallsmith Insurance, in Van Buren; as the chief financial company of a construction company in Las Vegas, NV; as owner and operator of a coal mine, in West Virginia; and as chief financial officer for Habitat for Humanity, in Melbourne, FL.

He was born Nov. 28, 1943, in Marion to David Edgar and Louvia Stimax Stallsmith.

Survivors include three sons, Eric (Kara) Stallsmith, of Belize; Dan (Stephanie) Stallsmith, of Los Angeles, CA; and Greg (Katy) Stallsmith, of Evansville; a daughter, Candi Bishop, of Pineville, WV; a sister, Neta June (Paul) O’Brien, of Marion; a brother-in-law, Don Pennington, of Indianapolis; and five grandchildren.

Calling is Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2015, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with a service following at 2:30 p.m., at Ferguson & Glancy Funeral Home, 201 N. Main St., Van Buren. Rev. Mark Sanders will officiate. Interment will be at the Van Buren Cemetery, in Van Buren.
