Betty E. Guenin

Betty E. Guenin, 91, of LaFontaine, IN, died Friday, Sept. 4, 2015, at 3:45 a.m. at her home.

Mrs. Guenin graduated from Lincolnville High School. She owned and operated Glamourette Beauty Shop, in LaFontaine, and had also worked at A.F. Billings, in Wabash. She was a member of the LaFontaine Christian Church and a former member of Lincolnville United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Women’s Club House, in Wabash, and Marie Webster Quilt Guilt, in Marion.

She was born Nov. 6, 1923, in Wabash County to Kenneth and Myrtle Gaines Howard. She married William Joseph Guenin on March 20, 1942, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 10, 2000.

Survivors include two sons, Larry O. (Marcia) Guenin and Rich Guenin, both of Marion; a daughter, Jane (Steve) Peebles, of Wabash; seven grandchildren, Stacie Stubbs and Missy West, both of Texas; R.J. (Kay) Guenin, of LaFontaine; Tammy (Chad) Kennedy, of Bourbon; Kari (Clif) Airgood, of Lincolnville; Alissa (Mark) Deeter, of Wabash; and Derek (Kasey) Peebles, of Bunker Hill; 17 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Calling is Sunday, Sept. 6, 2015, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., with a service following at 4 p.m., at LaFontaine Christian Church, in LaFontaine. Dan Guenin will officiate. Burial will be at the LaFontaine IOOF Cemetery, in LaFontaine.
