Charles E. 'Chuck' Shideler

Charles E. “Chuck” Shideler, 77, of Dillman, IN, and having family members in Huntington County, IN, died Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015.

Mr. Shideler graduated from Jefferson Center High School in 1956. He was employed by Anaconda, in Marion, before becoming a farmer. He was a former Warren town marshal and retired from the Wells County Sheriff’s Department.

He was born Dec. 23, 1937, in Jackson, MI, to Merritt and Grace Shideler. He married Ardith Banter on Dec. 29, 1956, and she preceded him in death on June 16, 2011.

Survivors include two sons, Mark (Teresa) Shideler, of Warren, and Mel (Sandy) Shideler, of Dillman; three brothers, Keith (Sue) Shideler, of West Lebanon; Gilbert (Darlene) Shideler, of Huntington; and Barry (Connie) Shideler, of Warren; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Calling is Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2015, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Glancy-H. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 203 N. Matilda St, Warren. A service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2015, at 11 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service. Rev. Dick Frederick, Rev. Lynn Mefford and Rev. Dick Case will officiate. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, in Warren.
