Robert E. Burley, 86, of Roanoke, IN, died Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010, at Parkview Huntington Hospital.

Mr. Burley, a lifelong resident of Huntington County, retired from Freuhauf Trailer in 1987. He served with the United States Army during World War II.

He was born July 19, 1923. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Rosemary Burley.

Additional survivors include a son, Robert W. Burley, of Huntington; three daughters, Judith E. (Madison) Rogers, of Lakeside, CA; Nancy L. (Glenn) Haneline, of Roanoke; and Darlene M. (Jay) Haney, of Huntington; a brother, Paul Burley; a sister, Phyllis Johnson; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Calling is Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Rd., Fort Wayne. A service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, Jan 21, at 11 a.m., with calling 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will be at Covington Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
