Marvin E. Kline, 83, of Middleville, MI, and formerly of Huntington, IN, died Thursday, Jan. 14, 2010, at the home of his daughter in Middleville, MI.

Mr. Kline served with the United States Marines during World War II and fought at Iwo Jima. He was a member of American Legion Post 7, Huntington. He was a conductor for the Erie Lackawanna Railway for 43 years, retiring in 1991. He and his wife owned Kline's Ceramics in Huntington. He coached baseball and helped maintain Gemmer Field for several years.

He was born April 14, 1926, in Huntington to Joseph and Nellie Dungan Kline. He married Phyllis Williams on Nov. 30, 1945. His wife survives.

Additional survivors include two sons, Joe (Pat) Kline, of Gainesville, GA, and David (Lynn) Kline, of Reno, NV; two daughters, Carla (Fred) Rock, of Middleville, MI, and Julie Seals, of Huntington; 10 grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Calling is Monday, Jan. 18, 2010, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010, at 10 a.m. at Funk Cemetery, Huntington.
