Frederick A. Stetzel

Frederick A. Stetzel, 88, of Huntington, IN, died Thursday, Nov. 19, 2015, at 7:38 a.m. at the Visiting Nurse Hospice Home, Fort Wayne.

Mr. Stetzel served in the United States Navy during World War II. He had been employed by H.K. Porter, in Huntington, for 22 years, retiring in 1982 as a general foreman in maintenance. He was a member of the Huntington Church of the Nazarene, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2689, Moose Lodge 837 and Legion of the Moose, all in Huntington.

He was born Dec. 24, 1926, in Wabash County to Benjamin Frank and Lena Schultz Stetzel. He married Lois Jean Holley on Dec. 24, 1948, in Huntington, and she survives.

Additional survivors include two sons, Darl E. (Fabi) Stetzel, of West Lafayette, and Benjamin F. (Diana) Stetzel II, of Roanoke; a daughter, Phyllis Capes, of Huntington; a brother, Delmer (Phyllis) Stetzel, of Huntington; a sister, Marilyn Templeton, of Hartford City; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Calling is Sunday, Nov. 22, 2015, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Bailey-Love Mortuary, in Huntington. A service will be held at the mortuary on Monday, Nov. 23, 2015, at 10 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service. Those unable to attend may view the service on the Bailey-Love Mortuary channel at www.livestream.com. Rev. Greg Comp will officiate. Burial will be at Gardens of Memory, in Huntington County, with military rites performed by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2689, in Huntington.
