Norma D. Pohler

Norma Darlene Pohler, 87, of Huntington, IN, died Monday, Nov. 23, 2015, at 1:25 p.m. at Norwood Health and Rehabilitation in Huntington.

Mrs. Pohler graduated from Clear Creek High School in 1946. She was a homemaker and retired as a cook from Victory Noll in Huntington. She was a past member of Polk Township Home Extension Group as well as Right to Life of Huntington County. She was a member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in Huntington.

She was born July 9, 1928, in Huntington County to Theodore and Laura Catherine Rupley Brooks. She married John Edward Pohler on May 1, 1949, in Huntington County. He preceded her in death on June 26, 2011.

Survivors include a daughter, Leah Hiers, of Huntington; three sons, Mike Pohler, of North Manchester; David (Theresa) Wayne Pohler, of Huntington; and Steve (Kelly) Pohler, of Columbia City; a sister, Geneva Stetzel, of North Manchester; two brothers, Robert Brooks and Donald Brooks, both of Huntington; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Calling is Friday, Nov. 27, 2015, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, 648 N. LaFontaine St., Huntington. A funeral service will follow immediately after at 2 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery in Huntington County.
