Violet Reba Hartsough, 90, of Timbercrest Senior Living Community, North Manchester, IN, and having family members in Roanoke, IN, died Sunday, Jan. 24, 2010, at 5:57 a.m. at Timbercrest.
Mrs. Hartsough graduated from Sidney High School in 1938. She was a member of Manchester Church of the Brethren and the Red Hat Society. She had been employed by McDonald's and later Dairy Queen, both in North Manchester.
She was born Jan. 9, 1920, in Kosciusko County to Thomas J. and Elsie Circle Poland. She married Daniel R. Hartsough on Jan. 9, 1942. Her husband preceded her in death on Aug. 31, 1986.
Survivors include a son, John K. (Ann) Hartsough, of North Manchester; six grandchildren, Jay (Nicole) Rosen, of Lafayette; Jon (Beth) Rosen, of North Manchester; Jama (Gary) Fry, of Roanoke; Rebecca Hartsough, of Denver, CO; Joel Hartsough, of Golden, CO; and Craig Hartsough, of Niles, MI; seven great-grandchildren; and a son-in-law, James Rosen, of Urbana.
Calling is Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2010, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Grandstaff-Hentgen Bender Chapel, 207 W. Main St., North Manchester. A service will be held Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010, at 2 p.m., with calling one hour prior to the service, at Timbercrest Chapel, 2201 East St., North Manchester. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, North Manchester.
