Darwin W. Busz Sr.

Darwin W. Busz Sr., 78, of Pierceton, IN, and having family members in Huntington County, IN, died Monday, Jan. 25, 2010, at 1:55 a.m. at Kosciusko Community Hospital,
Warsaw.

Mr. Busz, a lifelong resident of Pierceton, served in the Indiana National Guard. He retired from the Dana Weatherhead Division, Columbia City, as a floor inspector in 1991. He was a member of American Legion Post 253, North Webster, and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1906, Columbia City.

He was born April 22, 1931, in Kosciusko County to Thurman George and Nillie Birthwhistle Busz. He married Annette Suter on Jan. 3, 1983. His wife survives.

Additional survivors include two sons, Darwin (Rita) Busz Jr. and Bryan Busz, both of Warsaw; two brothers, Jim (Janice) Busz and Norm Busz, both of Pierceton; a stepson, Donald (Becky) Sills, of Huntington; a stepdaughter, Alice (Sam) Custer, of Markle; three sisters, Ada Finken and Lois Slieghter, both of Pierceton, and Maxine Slieghter, of Albion; 10 grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

A service will be held Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010, at noon, with calling two hours prior to the service, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 105 First St., Pierceton. Burial will be private.
