Francis H. Tucker, 95, of Lagro, IN, died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010, at Rolling Meadows Health Care Center, LaFontaine.
Mr. Tucker owned and operated Commercial Printing in Lagro for 30 years, retiring in 1979. He served in the United States Navy during World War II and was a 65-year member of American Legion Post 248 in Lagro. He attended Lagro Community Church.
He was born June 4, 1914, in Lagro to Raymond Roland and Florence Lucille Kerr Tucker. His first marriage was on June 8, 1939, to Zelma Mae Schaffer; she preceded him in death in July 1988. He married Marjorie Keaffaber Smith on Sept. 28, 1989, in Lagro. His wife survives in Indianapolis.
Additional survivors include a son, Thomas H. (Marcie) Tucker, of Denver; two stepsons, Jack Smith, of Walling, TN, and Jerry (Cathy) Smith, of Tucson, AZ; a stepdaughter, Peggy (John) O'Connor, of Indianapolis; a brother, Howard R. Tucker, of Auburn; a sister, Nettie McCammack of Lagro; four grandchildren, Michael Tucker and Tammy (Scott) Siders, both of Lagro; Deanne Vrenburg, of Maysville, KY; and Laura (Ed) Minix, of Niles, MI; eight great-grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; eight stepgreat-grandchildren; and a stepgreat-great-grandson.
A service was held Saturday, Jan. 30, 3010, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, Wabash, with Joel Murray officiating. Burial was at Lagro Cemetery, Lagro.
