Ellen Karen Ashcraft, 64, of Van Buren, IN, died Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010, at her home.

Mrs. Ashcraft had been employed by Marion General Hospital for 16 years, retiring in 2001. She had been a member of Job's Daughters and Psi Iota Xi Sorority and a member and leader of Girl Scouts of America.

She was born Sept. 27, 1945, in Indianapolis to George and Mildred Carter Hornbrook. She married Duaine Ashcraft on June 17, 1967, in Petersburg. Her husband survives.

Additional survivors include a son, Dr. Cregg Ashcraft, of Columbus, OH; a daughter, Christie (Robert) Livingston, of Leo; two brothers, Michael (Karen) Fauber, of Greentown, and David (Georgia) Fauber, of Amboy; a sister, Pachia (Allen) Redington, of Frankfort; and three grandchildren, Cameron Livingston, Landen Livingston and Ellie Livingston, all of Leo.

A private service was held Wednesday, Feb.3, 2010, at Ferguson and Glancy Funeral Home, Van Buren, with Rev. Steve Colter officiating. Interment followed at the Van Buren Cemetery.
