Maxine Wiley

Maxine Wiley, 89, of Huntington, IN, died Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at 12:40 a.m. at the Heritage of Huntington.

Mrs. Wiley worked for the Huntington County Community School Corporation for 10 years as administrative assistant to the superintendent. She retired from Verizon as an accounting clerk in 1991. She was a member of Wabash Primitive Baptist Church in Huntington County, where she served as secretary for several years. She was a past president of Huntington Women’s Club and enjoyed her bridge club. She graduated from Union Township High School in 1944.

She was born Aug. 26, 1926, in Rockford to Raymond and Ruth Lesh Sale, and was raised by her mother and stepfather, David Brubaker. She married Max W. Wiley on Jan. 4, 1948, in Huntington County, and he preceded her in death on March 10, 2002.

Survivors include two sons, Jack (Rhonda) Wiley, of LaFontaine, and Jerry (Melissa) Wiley, of Indianapolis; a daughter, Janet (James) McSharar, of Indianapolis; a daughter-in-law, Linda Wiley, of Ponte Verda, FL; a sister-in-law, Lela Sale, of Huntington; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

 Calling is Sunday, April 24, 2016, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Drive, Huntington.  A funeral service will be held Monday, April 25, 2016, at 10 a.m. at Wabash Primitive Baptist Church, 340S-200E, Markle, with Rev. Tom Pitney officiating. Burial will be in Star of Hope Cemetery in Huntington County.
