Harold Stoffel

Harold Stoffel, 91, of Syracuse, IN, and a native of Huntington, IN, died Friday, April 29, 2016, at his home.

Mr. Stoffel operated North Webster Lumber and was also a long-time farmer. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of St. Martin dePorres Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and American Legion Post 253.

He was born March 16, 1925, in Huntington to Frank and Mary Gill Stoffel. He married Maxine Carl on Sept. 30, 1950, and she preceded him in death in 1991.

Survivors include three daughters, Cindy (John) Hollister, Diane Rucker and Angie (Dave) Wall; four sons, Larry (Cathy) Stoffel, Frank (Brenda) Stoffel, John (Dale) Stoffel and Dave (Cathy) Stoffel; 20 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

Calling is Monday, May 2, 2016, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a rosary service at 7:30 p.m., at Eastlund Funeral Home, 7458E-1000N, Syracuse. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at 10 a.m. at St. Martin dePorres Catholic Church, Syracuse, with Rev. Richard Hire officiating. Burial will be at the North Webster Cemetery Mock Addition, with military rites by the North Webster American Legion.
