Clayton L. Shepperd, 71, of Huntington, IN, died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010, at 6:22 p.m. at Parkview Huntington Hospital.

Mr. Shepperd was retired from Friction Materials Corporation, where he had worked in maintenance for 41 years, and was a member of UAW Local 430. He graduated from Comstock High School, Comstock, NE, in 1955. He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.

He was born Dec. 8, 1938, in Arcadia, NE, to Clayton B. and Virgie Forrester Shepperd. He married Linda L. Teusch on April 8, 1962, in Huntington. His wife preceded him in death on Dec. 4, 2002.

Survivors include four sons, Michael Shepperd, Chris (Wanda) Shepperd and Digger (Tammy) Shepperd, all of Huntington, and David Shepperd, of Albion; a daughter, Sundaye (Alvin) Hook, of Butler; a brother, Larry Shepperd, of Aurora, CO; three sisters, Shirley Barrows, of Ralston, NE; Karen Glathar, of Windsor, MO; and Beverly Kiesow, of Long Beach, CA; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Calling is Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a service following at 1 p.m., at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Drive, Huntington. Burial will be at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Huntington County.
