Sheelah J. Hilliard

Sheelah J. Hilliard, 59, of Bluffton, IN and a native of Huntington, IN, died Tuesday, May 3, 2016, in Fort Wayne.

Mrs. Hilliard grew up in Markle and graduated from Huntington North High School in 1975. She was a homemaker, and was the lead vocalist for her band “Weekend Traffic” for many years.

She was born Nov. 12, 1956, in Huntington to Fred and Lois Jean Bear Harshman. She married Dennis D. Hilliard on May 10, 1980, in Huntington, and he survives her.

Additional survivors include a daughter, Amanda J. Hilliard, of Houston, TX; a son, Gabriel S. (Victoria) Hilliard, of Bluffton, two brothers, Fred (Darlene) Harshman, of New Haven, and Ron (Judy) Harshman, of Fort Wayne; a sister, Shelley (Bill) Crockett, of Roanoke; and a grandson, Nikoli M. Hilliard, of Bluffton.

Calling is Thursday, May 5, 2016, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Thoma/Rich, Lemler Funeral Home, in Bluffton. A funeral service will be held Friday, May 6, 2016, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with calling one hour prior to the service. Rev. Gary Endersby will officiate.
