William L. Davis

William L. Davis, 85, of Fort Wayne, IN, and having family members in Huntington County, IN, died Monday, May 2, 2016, at his home.

Mr. Davis worked as a store manager and district manager, managing several Montgomery Ward stores throughout the country. He had more than 30 years of sobriety and Alcoholics Anonymous participation and had worked as a drug and alcohol counselor at the Washington House. He later worked as a driver for Kelly Chevrolet.

He was born May 5, 1930, in Murray to William Harvey and Anna Miller Davis. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Betty Davis.

Additional survivors include four daughters, Vicki Lynn (Rick) Phillips, of Kent, OH; Melodie (Martin) Koher, of North Webster; Lea (Bill) Richardson, of Milford; and Lanita (Tim) Yoder, of Warsaw; two sons, Michael (Kathy) Stutzman, of Florida, and Edward (Janet) Stutzman, of Spokane, WA; three sisters, Helen Pence, of Huntington; Joan Hoover, of Roanoke; and Carolyn Davis, of Fremont; 15 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Calling is Friday, May 6, 2016, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., with a service following at 3 p.m., at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Rd., Fort Wayne. Burial will be at Oak Lawn Cemetery, Ossian.
